Dear Friends:
I want to express my deepest thanks to the voters of the Assembly District 22 in San Mateo County for re-electing me to the California State Assembly. I am honored and humbled that you have placed your trust in me.
The California Secretary of State has certified the election results:

Voters turned out in tremendous numbers, 73 percent countywide. Four years ago, in the last equivalent statewide election, turnout in San Mateo County was just 46.3 percent.

I appreciate your confidence in me to move our district forward toward excellence. I will work diligently on your behalf to help address challenges facing California and San Mateo County.

My focus will continue to be on ensuring an on-time, balanced state budget, creating shared prosperity and economic opportunity for our workforce, and reforming and strengthening our democracy.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

Kevin Mullin
Assembly Speaker pro Tem

Campaign 2018

It is an honor to represent you in the California State Assembly. My focus is on ensuring an on-time, balanced state budget, creating shared prosperity for our workforce, and reforming and strengthening our democracy. As Assembly Speaker pro Tem, I preside over legislative sessions and work to ensure bi-partisan civility and cooperation as we address issues confronting California. As a member of the leadership, I am putting the concerns of San Mateo County residents in the forefront at the State Capitol.

I’ve authored 40 bills signed into law, including the first-in-the-nation DISCLOSE Act to reveal the true funders of ballot measures and candidates, so voters can make informed decisions. I helped lead the legislature’s efforts to invest in our transportation infrastructure, address our affordable housing crisis, and extend California’s landmark Cap-n-Trade program to combat climate change. My previous experience includes owning a small business, serving as an aide to the Honorable Jackie Speier, and as local Mayor and Council member.

I am a San Mateo County native and a fourth generation Californian. My wife Jessica and I are raising our twin boys in South San Francisco. I graduated from Junipero Serra High School and the University of San Francisco, received an M.P.A. degree from San Francisco State University, and studied leadership at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

I ask for your vote so I may continue to be a strong voice for you at the State Capitol. Please follow me on social media and at Thank you for your consideration.
